Beggar's Chicken @ Ijok

Can't recall, could be our fifth visit here over the years.  With Latar Highway from our home now took us less than 30 minutes to reach New Beggar's Delicious Restaurant at Ijok town which is located at a secluded area.

Their few signature dishes which you need to ordered in advance to avoid dissappointment:

Beggar Chicken, Glutinous Rice (Eight treasure rice), Braised Pig Trotter, Pig Stomach Pepper Soup with black fungus

Abundance of herbs used in beggar chicken which was wrapped in aluminium foil, covered in clay before being baked few hours in open brick oven with wood  and the result tender succulent juicy chicken.

Glutinous rice with los of salted duck egg, mushrooms, dried oyster, dried shrimp and pork  - the taste is so delicious.

Our addition of green vegetable stir fry garlic for a healthier version

The aromatic Braised Pork Knuckles with yam, no complaint on this dish.



The Pig Stomach Pepper soup, a pot enough for everyone, the 8 of us.



The addition of this salted egg calamari in addition to their signature dishes.
