Crabs lover, this no frill restaurant serve large and fresh crabs. It is just besides a chinese temple or conveniently blocked by the temple.
Besides, crabs, you can also order prawns, fish, superior clam soup, hot plate oyster omelette (which I personally did not like it), Fried pork belly marinated in nam yue (fermented bean sauce).

Kuih Teo Chew @ Taman Muda
Heard about this place from my brother and coincidentally I was around the area. Using waze were were directed to this place where there is a queue to buy their famous Teochew Chai Kueh. No regret even is a longer queue as theirs were indeed mamma mia!
Regardless of their fillings which you can select from turnip, yam, chives, pumpkin, sweet potato, each will cost you RM0.90. However, using their box to pack will cost you another RM0.20.
We personally prefer turnip, so we bought mostly turnip except 2 chives just to try.

Go Noodle House @ Publika
This morning news of two people were shot to death the night before did not stop us from patronizing Publika, our nearest place to hunt for food. Go Noodle House was chosen as our next restaurant a week earlier. Eldest son had tried once in their outlet at Jaya One, thus he recommended that we should try.
Besides Pan Mee (noodle made from wheat flour), they also have Meehoon/Vermicelli (noodle made from Rice) and Mee Suah/Longevity noodle (very thin salted noodle made from wheat flour).
Me and mom shared a bowl of their Pan Mee Superior Soup (RM9.50) come with minced meat, spinach and anchovies. Whereas elder son and hubby had Spicy Soup Pan Mee with add on of squid ball and meat ball respectively. Younger sob had Dry Spicy Dark Sauce Pan Mee with add on slice meat. Each cost RM10 each minus the add on. With four herbal drinks the bill RM62.70. Yes, recommended place if you like Pan Mee. The superior soup is different from what you get in other eateries. Each of us has chosen the right flavor as everyone liked the Pan Mee here.
Besides Publika, Jaya One, other outlets will be in One Utama and Mid Valley.

GEM - House of Indian Cuisines
Me, hubby and my two boys all love Indian cuisine especially briyani or banana leave rice.
Whenever Deepavali comes, the boys will be excited as hubby's store supervisor will invite us to his house. His wife cooked delicious mutton and fish curry, aromatic fried chicken and prawn sambal.
We went to GEM, a semi fine dining restaurant in Brickfields which served good food. Hubby and I have both on different occasions been here twice. The first time I had lunch here was a treat by my Australian boss and second time with all the managers from various country after a half yearly meeting. As for hubby, once with his friends and another with his lawyer.
We ordered one each of Prawn Briyani (RM21.90) and Mutton Briyani (RM22.90) for the 4 of us. Dishes were Bhuna Mutton (RM23.90), Chicken Coconut Curry (RM20.90) and Mushroon Pepper Fry (RM14.90). Me and younger son did not quite like the chicken curry but not my hubby and elder son.
Since there were leftover dishes and gravy, the boys decided to try their plain naan which was very good.
Both boys gave their nod for second visit. Glad they love the food here as much as us.

Best Fluffy Kaya Puff in Ipoh
For kaya puff lovers, go for Sin Eng Heong Confectionary which has been in business for more than 50 years, if you happen to be in Ipoh.
For someone who dislike kaya puff giving her thumbs up, you can tell how yummy it is.
This shop version is a mini type of kaya puff with extremely good kaya filling flaky pastry selling at RM0.90 per piece.
However you need to be very patient as you need to queue and the line is worst during weekends or public holidays.
Even on weekday, you still need to queue. My husband detoured to Ipoh from his Penang business day trip back to KL and he told me that there were 15 people in front of him and a full load of tour bus passengers behind of him. He was lucky just a minute earlier then the tour bus. If not, could not imagine how long he has to wait for his turn.
Besides kaya puff, he also bought mochi which to me is ichiban! There is lots other varieties there and I heard that their pastry with salted egg is good too.

Mussels @ Two Sons Bistro, Publika
When Two Sons Bistro just started business, we walked in but was unable to get a table as we did not make any reservation. It was packed and we did not manage to dine here as was advised that waiting period will be long. This time, we called up to reserve a table. It was a Sunday but the restaurant was not full.
Definitely mussel that you must try here. We had their top selling butter cream chilies mussel which was indeed very good, highly recommended.
We tried clear ginger with lemongrass clam 450gm (RM25) besides aglio oglio spagetti and wild mushroom soup. Total for 4 pax RM168. The clam didnt go well with me and hubby but the kids said it was alright to them.
The mussel or clam will come with either garlic bread or french fries, your preference for selection.

Claypot Porridge @ Selayang
Claypot porridge anyone? We were waiting for son to finish his revision with his friend in Selayang and suppose to pick him up at 11 pm. After having our dinner at Publika an hour earlier as it was still early, we strolled around the shopping mall. It was almost closing hour, thus we left to Selayang and saw this Shang Hai Porridge recommendation in FB, But we did not intend to have porridge but dessert instead. However, when we arrived by 10.15 pm, the dessert was sold out so we ended up having porridge!
This stall has been around about 13 years and we had eaten once before so many donkey years ago. We ordered their 6 flavour which consists of century egg, salty egg, dried oyster, shredded chicken, sliced fish and deep fried intestine, good for 1 person because we were still full from the earlier dinner.
Their recommendations were fish, paddy frog and 6 flavours porridge.
You can try and let me know how you find this stall. As for me, it was good though not the best, individual preference.

Nelson Tan Cafe @ Kepong
Nelson Tan Cafe is serving western cuisine with tagline "good food without boundary".
The portion served is quite generous and price is reasonable. A group of five of us (three of us did not have lunch), all in we ordered 6 items and surprisingly we could finish everything. However, do note that this is a non-halal restaurant.
Besides the above, we also ordered Escargots ala Bourguignonne which is a must try
French style baked snails in garlic herbs butter sauce served with toasts RM18.70 and Pescatore (pasta top with mixed seafood tomato sauce) RM29.50.
Everyone commented they liked the Lamb Shoulder though it was not stated in the menu as 'must try".

Awesome Prawn Nooodle @ Kepong
Drooling for a bowl of Penang Hokkien Noodle aka Prawn noodle in KL, you no longer need to travel far to Penang. Is just here in Kepong, try Chye Kee.
Besides prawn noodle they also have kway teow ting/fishball noodle and wanton noodle.
A small bowl will be RM5.50 whereas the big bowl is RM6.50. The prawn is bigger than usual prawn noodle we have in other stall.
The prawn noodle soup and sambal was awesome! But the small bowl was not enough for me. Should have order a big bowl!
Look for Allianz or BSN, the small food court is just opposite. Or if you are familiar with Maybank, is just nearby.

Bon Ga @ Solaris Mont Kiara
My elder son has suggested to dine in Chicken House at Solaris Mont Kiara for my birthday celebration. However, when we reached there, the shop was closed. Not sure if close permanently or it was their off day. It was a Monday, so I guessed could be their off day.
I have then decided to go to Bon Ga Korean Restaurant, as I recalled a friend telling me she often dine at this restaurant. There were at least refillable 12 ba chans (side dish) served.
The boys went to buy a small Tiramisu cake to surprise me as myself, hubby and mom went to the restaurant first.
It was a good choice as everyone loves the food here. Hubby loves the Kimchi soup whereas I liked their stir fry chicken. We had chicken, rib and smoked duck. Best thing not much heat from the electric grill here even it was on our table.
The ever smiling face owner was so sweet to give me a little present after I have blown the candle. It was a passport holder bought in Korea as the little price tag of KRW 5,500 was at the back.

Restoran Lucky Seven Plus @ Taman Perindustrian Ehsan Jaya
We passed by this row of shop and saw this newly opened intermediate lot restaurant with a unique name, Lucky Seven Plus. Quite a lot of customers considering this restaurant is new.
So for dinner on a Saturday night, we thought of why not we should go and check it out. Their specialty here, Steam Fish Head using Grass Carp Fish ("Sung Yue"). You have a choice of steam with Ginger, Radish, Asam, Bean Sauce, Patong (sweet sour with bit spiciness) or Nyonya.
We ordered Steam Fish in bean sauce, Stir fry French Bean with radish and Claypot Village Chicken.
The fish was steamed with right amount of time that its flesh was cooked perfectly soft. You must not over steam a fish which I always ensure that whenever I steam fish at home. The village chicken is tender. As for the French Bean, the crispy radish went well with it.
When I asked for their business card to look for their address, I was told their business card was still with old address. No wonder there were many customers who were already regular patronizing this restaurant. Previously there were located at No. 7 Medan Selera Tapak Zon Penampan, Taman Perindustrian Bukit Desa, 52100 Kuala Lumpur. If you come from Taman Ehsan, the shop is on your left facing main road.

Jarrod & Rawlins @ Bangsar
Since is a school holiday, we decided to dine out for lunch. However, this is real late lunch as we went to their outlet at Damanasara but it was under renovation. By the time we reached Bangsar outlet it was almost 2pm, late lunch and everyone was hungry.
You may find Jarrod & Rawlins (J&R), a bar and restaurant for fine food and wine in Damansara Heights, Bangsar and Jalan Ampang. Obtaining a few food awards from 2010 till 2012, this is certainly a place to try as it serves one of the best breakfast in town.

Kampachi @ Pavilion KL
Our first ever visit was like at least 15 years back when our Principal from Italy was here and it was a treat from them. This was our second visit and today marked our 25th wedding anniversary. Yes, 25th and inclusive of dating years, we have known each other for 32 years!
Is not easy as we have our hugs and fights, ups and downs! In a relationship, it takes both to work it out.
We decided to have our anniversary lunch in Kampachi, the award winning Japanese Restaurant together with our two boys. Here, they serve the finest sashimi air flown all the way from Tokyo.
These were what we had as we decided a light lunch follow by dessert or snacks somewhere else:
Kampachi has three outlets i.e. Pavillion, Troika, Persiaran KLCC and Plaza 33 in Petaling Jaya. Since Christmas is coming soon, we went to the outlet in Pavilion, just to have a joly feel of the festive season.

Famous Siam Laksa @ Balik Pulau
Kim Siam Laksa is a must each time we are in Penang. Broth is slighthy different from Assam Laksa because Siam Laksa is with coconut milk.
Just look at this bowl of appertizing Siam Laksa, full of mackerel fish. I am sure no one could resist bowl or two!
Kim Siam Laksa was previously operating at Nan Guang Coffee Shop at Balik Pulau town but now has moved to Kim Seng Kopitiam.

Pretz n' Beanz Cafe @ Solaris Mont Kiara
School holiday is here for 6 weeks, it was a Friday night and we have decided to go for dessert after dinner at home. Initially thought of going for ice cream at Haagen Daaz but ended up "lepaking" (do nothing) at Pretz n' Beanz Cafe.
Our usual hang out nearer to us has always been Solaris Mont Kiara. We were attracted to Pretzel as we walked pass Pretz n Beanz Cafe, so our venue plan changed immediately.
First we ordered two type of Pretzel but could not resist Waffle! After finishing Pretzel, we ordered the yum Waffle. The milk shake here was good, thick and delicious just like the way we like it. Another chill place for "lepaking".
The bill total to RM85.55 with 3 drinks.

Seafood Bah Kut Teh @ Klang
Talk about Bah Kut Teh (BKT) or Meat Bone Tea, normally you will think of Klang. But now this place has come up with Seafood Bah Kut Teh, try it out!
As my elder son never like prawn, we had it separated from the Seafood Claypot BKT. We were there quite late for dinner maybe but it was only 8.30 pm, no more lala and they replaced with scallop.
Hubby had tried it out once with his business partner for lunch and had always wanted to take us there. So one fine Sunday and since my two boys did not have to attend any class on the next day, we drove all the way to Klang. Thumbs up for the creativity of seafood to go with BKT and we loved it.
Total bill came out to RM139.70 for 5 person.

I began to like Fish Head Noodle . People do change from time to time. This stall that I quite like to patron is at Wangsa Permai.
You can have a choice of dory (RM6.50) garoupa (RM8.50) or giant garoupa (RM12). It also has 3 types of Rice Vermicelli noodle, if you prefer crystal addition 50 sen only.
The stall owner is off on Wednesday if not wrong. I will reconfirm on this.

Choon Prawn Mee House @ Taman Paramount
If you are in Petaling Jaya area and looking for prawn mee, try Choon Penang Prawn Mee at Taman Paramount. The owner, Mr Peter Kang was operating a stall at O & S Restaurant before moving to his own restaurant in November 2013. He has been selling prawn mee for the past 30 years.
Operating from a whole shop now, he has more space to add on varieties here. Besides prawn mee, they also have Penang Loh Mee, Penang Chee Cheong Fun, Penang Kuey Toew Teng, Nyonya Dry Curry Mee, Homemade Lor Bak, Stew Chicken Feet, Nasi Lemak and Nyonya Rice Special.
As a small eater, I just ordered their normal Prawn mee (RM7 per bowl). For me it was a bit oily and the broth, on the sweet side. Overall, it was good but really depends on individual preference. My husband ordered addition of pork ribs and squid whereas my son ordered addition of pork intestines and big prawn to the normal size which cost RM13 a bowl each.
We also ordered a plate of Stew Chicken Feet but not to my son's preference but was alright with my husband.
The price range of their prawn noodle is from RM7 to RM18. The higher price will comes with King prawn.

Ravi's Banana Leaf Rice @ Solaris Mont Kiara
Being a Malaysian, we are living in a multi-racial country. Thus we are truly blessed, spoil by lots of food choices and different cuisines.
Banana leaf rice, an Indian cuisine, has always been our all time favorite, serve with vegetables, crispy pappadam and drench with curries of your choice. Here they only serve either dhall, chicken or fish curry. You can have mixture of the curries, totally up to your preference.

This was the second time I visited this Ravi's Banana Leaf Rice at Solaris Mont Kiara situated among plenty of Koreans Restaurants. We had fried mackerel fish (RM6.50 per piece) , deep fried squid, fried chicken (RM6.50 per piece) and mutton varuval (RM9.50 por plate). I loved the tender squid in crispy batter. The mackerel fish was tender too. However my son complained that the mutton was a bit hard this time. As for the fried chicken, it was not well marinated.
